Our Mission
North Carolina Empowerment Organization is a 501c3 nonprofit founded upon the principle of advancing North Carolina and North Carolinians. We seek to empower North Carolinians to achieve social, educational, economic, and political self-determination through our pillars of civic engagement and education, mutual aid, and community investment.
Civic Engagement & Education
Political Involvement: Within our political involvement focus area our programs will primarily be steered towards Nonpartisan Voter education, Voter registration and Voter Engagement. We desire to provide high impact motivation in the political process and primarily in disenfranchised areas across North Carolina.
Community Research: Within our community research focus area our programs will engage in researching the overlap between political policies and legislative disenfranchisement within various marginalized communities throughout North Carolina. Our ultimate goal is to carve out data that specifically entangles marginalized communities to overt and covert discriminatory policies and legislation and educate these communities on the effects thereof.
Advocacy and Education: Within our Advocacy and Education focus area our programs will consist of educating the community to address immediate community needs civilly. While also equipping these communities with the tool to effectuate change by strategically advocating for themselves from a civil lens.
Capacity Building: Within our Capacity Building focus area our programs will consist of building power within communities across North Carolina to address the pressing needs and current climate within these particular communities. We honestly believe and know that individuals closest to the problems of their communities are the best solutions.
